O, DO NOT PRAY

O, do not pray for easy lives!
Pray to be stronger men!
Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers.
Pray for powers equal to your tasks!
Then the doing of your work shall be no miracle;
But you shall be a miracle.
Every day you shall be a miracle.
Every day you shall wonder at yourself, at the richness of life which has come in you by the grace of God.

O, DO NOT PRAY
Poet Brooks expresses his belief in stretching beyond one’s capabilities. In doing so, a person grows stronger, matures. What is most important is not the act itself, but the pride one finds from within and the miracle of life by the Grace of God.
O, DO NOT PRAY is a colorful lithograph framed in its original frame, glass, dust cover paper and hanger. Note its design with its use of flowers; the bridge, a must for that era’s gardens; and the style in which the man and woman.are rendered. The illustration is a precursor to the FDR’s WPA programs.
All are original, the frame, glass dust-cover paper and the much sort after large brass cloverleaf hanger embossed with BUZZA. O’ DO NOT PRAY is in excellent condition considering its vintage age
