Buzza Motto – Your Birthday by J.P. McEvoy – 1927
Growing older? All the better!
So does everything that cheers
Wine but mellows as it ages
Books grow famous with the years.
Only blessings worth the having Live in love, and flourish strong;
Songs grow nearer; friends grow dearer
Growing older; right along.
From the Writings of J.P. McEvoy
A Buzza Motto, copyright 1927
Set to the side of the verse is a distinctive motif of the 1920s, a large garden urn. The gold urn is laden with flowers all set in the night’s dark blue sky. I like the calmness of the scene and I appreciate it’s linked to McEvoy’s writings. YOUR BIRTHDAY is entirely original except for the dust-cover paper. It appears to have been added some time later. The framed motto is in excellent condition considering its vintage age. YOUR BIRTHDAY is worthy as a gift to your special someone. Such a gift will be remembered as it can be read and reread.
