HARVEST MOON is a lovely pastel, 1925, signed SMA and Framed as specified by THE FINE ART TRADE GUILD.
HARVEST MOON, 1925 is from an elderly New Orleans woman’s estate, which leads me to believe that the pastel originally hung in her family’s home.
HARVEST MOON is in mint condition and framed as specified by The Fine Art Trade Guild. The olive green mat is 100% rag board and enhanced with a thin gold ink line around the mat’s opening. The pastel is drawn on a thick board so often used during that period; therefore, it is placed on a rag board sink mat to hold it in place and without any adhesive. Also, HARVEST MOON is protected against fading with museum glass as its glazing. Last but not least is the frame. The frame is a quality wood moulding in a rope design with a black finish, an excellent selection.
Neil Young wrote:
“When we were strangers
I watched you from afar
When we were lovers
I loved you with all my heart.
But now it’s gettin’ late
And the moon is climbin’ high
I want to celebrate
See it shinin’ in your eye.
Because I’m still in love with you
I want to see you dance again
Because I’m still in love with you
On this harvest moon.”
